Terms

Terms & conditions, in plain language.

By downloading or using LiveLayer, you agree to these terms. We have tried to keep them short and readable — no fine print, no surprises.

Using LiveLayer

LiveLayer is a free desktop application for setting video, GIF, and image wallpapers and adding a date widget on Windows 10 and Windows 11. You may use it for any lawful purpose, personally or commercially, as long as you follow the license below.

License

LiveLayer is open source and released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). You are free to use, study, modify, and share it within the terms of that license. The full source code is available on GitHub.

Your content stays yours

LiveLayer ships with no pre-loaded wallpapers. The videos, GIFs, and images you add as wallpapers are your own files, stored only on your device. LiveLayer does not collect, upload, or share your wallpapers or any personal data.

No warranty

LiveLayer is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the app.

Privacy

LiveLayer is a local-first application. It collects no data, requires no account, and works fully offline. Read the full privacy policy for details.

Microsoft Store

When you install LiveLayer through the Microsoft Store, Microsoft’s own terms and privacy policy apply to the download and update process. LiveLayer itself is governed by these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the changelog and on GitHub. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
